Sugar Estate Park is an 11-acre commercial business park that was developed in 1991 and is located directly behind the only hospital on St. Thomas, within a half mile of the West Indian Company cruiseship dock, one and one-half miles from the Charlotte Amalie's downtown shopping and commercial districts, and at the intersection of the primary roads leading to the eastern end of St. Thomas. Sugar Estate Park (the "Park") is comprised of eight long-term ground lease parcels. Paved roads and utilities were provided by Lockhart, and lessees have built their own buildings.
The Company will soon begin construction of Sugar Estate Commercial Centre on one three-quarter acre in the Park. The Commercial Centre will be geared towards service-oriented firms. In addition, the Company has begun the design of a two-building office complex comprised of retail and office/medical suites to be located in the Park adjacent to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital.
